基本介紹
陳志明（Tan Chee-Beng），人類學家與東南亞研究專家，國籍：馬來西亞，1950年出生于馬來西亞柔佛州，1974年畢業于馬來西亞科技大學，獲社會科學學士學位，1976—1979年就讀于美國康奈爾大學，并先後獲得人類學碩士、博士學位。畢業後曾任教于新加坡大學和馬來亞大學，1996年至2012年任教于香港中文大學，其中八年擔任人類學系主任。2012年9月，陳志明博士被聘任為中山大學人類學系的特聘教授。
研究方向
族群，文化變遷與認同；族群關系；原著民/少數民族與發展；僑鄉與海外華人；華人宗教；飲食與文化。研究區域包括東南亞（以馬來西亞為主）和中國（華南）。所研究的群體包括馬六甲的峇峇、馬來西亞的華人社群（吉蘭丹和登嘉樓的華人、沙巴州的天津人等）、沙撈越的巴登根雅人（Badeng Kenyah）、福建泉州的巴厘華人、香港的印尼華人等。

社會兼職
陳志明教授曾發起并創辦《海外華人》（Journal of Chinese Overseas）學報和《亞洲人類學》（Asian-Anthropology）學報，并負責學報的主編/聯合主編多年，并先後被台灣中央研究院民族學研究所《台灣人類學刊》編委會、 台灣大學人類學系《考古人類學刊》咨詢委員會聘為委員；亦被《華人研究國際學報》、《西北民族研究》、《亞洲人類學》 、《東南亞學刊 》(台灣國立暨南國際大學) 、馬來西亞人文與社會科學學報、Anthropological Forum 聘為學術咨詢/國際咨詢委員等。
